Site Specific Transdisciplinary quintet in homage to Trisha Brown’s
In homage to Trisha Brown's iconic "Roof Piece" from 1971, I developed an interdisciplinary dance quintet that connects the concept of suspension with the city's soundscape. Suspension can be understood as the necessary tension that keeps things in motion; it represents a moment of pause, interruption, a spark of contact, and each instance is profoundly unique in both intensity and form. Suspension provides expanded time for clarity, change, and development. The city is a constantly moving organism, with which we flow and adapt, aligning with its rhythms. In "SSTB," we explore how the qualities, dynamics, and effects of suspensions, along with the sounds surrounding us, shape our movement, presence, and interconnections. This exploration interacts with the concept of suspension, manifesting in both spatial and interpersonal patterns.
I used a 360° camera to create various perspectives of the play and enhance the performance's visibility to the public in other areas of the museum.
